2017 CEWA Commissioning Mass

About 800 people gathered at St Mary’s Cathedral recently for a Mass to welcome new teaching staff and principals to Catholic Education Western Australia.

Archbishop Timothy Costelloe celebrated the Commissioning Mass, which was attended by the Honourable Kerry Sanderson, Governor of Western Australia, the Honourable Sue Ellery, Shadow Minister for Education.

Archbishop Costelloe invited the new school staff to the front of the Cathedral during the Mass, where they received a blessing for the start of their work in the CEWA system. CEWA Executive Director, Dr Tim McDonald, also spoke of the importance of the work of Catholic school staff for their students and communities.
