New Centre builds on connection with Oblates

17 October 2018

Mazenod College officially opened its innovative Provence Design and Technology Centre recently.

The school’s Provincial Father, Fr Peter Daly OMI, led the blessing and provided guests with a history connecting the College’s standard of facilities to the hard work of the many generations of families and supporters.

Provence holds a special place in Mazenod’s story as it was in Aix-en-Provence that St Eugene began his ministry more than 200 years ago.

Artisans were just one of the groups of the poor St Eugene recognised as being forgotten in the upheaval of the French Revolution, and these people of great creativity and skill have always held a special place in the work of the Oblates.

Design and Technology is one area that nurtures the modern artisan skills. Mazenod College’s new facilities provide excellent high-quality teaching environment for its students.
