2,000 Micro:bits distributed among 60 schools

02 March 2017

Students across 60 Catholic education schools have begun experiencing the amazing capabilities of Micro:bit devices.

Designed by the BBC in the UK, these impressive education devices have been described as “pocket-sized codeable computers”. CEWA is the only education system in Australia invited by the Micro:bit Foundation to participate in a national partnership along with professors, educators, curriculum makers and high level influencers who have begun working with Micro:bit in schools.

The devices can be used for coding activities to create cross curricular links and collect data. An example of this includes coding a pedometer to link the subjects of Technologies, Health and Physical Education.
