Catholic Arts – an update for 2021

31 March 2021

After a challenging year in 2020, Catholic Arts are set to return with their full program of live events in 2021.

The COVID-19 pandemic prompted the Catholic Arts team, school staff and students to respond with impressive resilience and creativity last year, making the Angelico Exhibition and Performing Arts Festival great successes with the help of digital technologies.

Other well-loved features in the Catholic Arts calendar could not go ahead, however, including the Catholic Education Carnevale, Opening Mass and Performing Arts Festival Concert.

For 2021, all aspects of the Angelico Exhibition, the Performing Arts Festival and Carnevale are planned to proceed as in previous year, with audiences at performances only limited by any restrictions and precautions that remain in place for venues.

The learnings and successes of 2020 have been taken on board by the Catholic Arts team, and the increase in accessibility for some students and schools through the option of online entry of performances will remain this year.

The Catholic Arts season is set to commence with a Liturgy of the Word at St Mary’s Cathedral in Perth on Thursday, 22 July.

Staff involved in Catholic Arts at their school can find key points for 2021 and more information in this announcement from Chair, and by visiting the Catholic Arts website.
