CEWA College pioneers PD day for Home Economics Assistants

09 May 2017

Mandy De Gennaro of Emmanuel Catholic College has developed the first Professional Development (PD) specifically for Home Economics Assistants, after noticing a distinct lack of suitable courses in the Metro Area.

The PD was developed to allow for Home Economics Assistants from across WA to meet and share ideas and discussions on how to structure and streamline daily duties, and in doing so support one another in identifying the most efficient practices to run their Home Economics departments.

The invitation to the first PD was met with an overwhelming response and took place on 20 April, when a total of 18 Home Economics Assistants met at the Emmanuel Catholic College restaurant to share their experiences and ideas.

The PD will now be held twice a year, alternating between schools. What an incredible display of CEWA staff members’ passion and dedication in their field of expertise!
