‘Be the One’ – Catholic School Youth Summit for primary students

07 December 2018

More than 150 student leaders from 39 CEWA schools met recently for the first Catholic School Youth Summit for primary schools, themed ‘Be the One’.

Students, along with more than 60 staff members, were encouraged and challenged as role models called to be a voice for others.

The Summit was intended to engage students as young leaders in the Church during the Year of Youth, empower them to live as disciples of Jesus, and motivate them to be agents of change.

Keynote presenters included former CEWA student David Castelanelli from Alpha Motivation; the Standing Strong team, which spoke on health and wellness and got students moving; and 7 News personality Rick Ardon who shared his personal story and thoughts on faith in a happy and meaningful life.

The Summit was hosted by Chisholm Catholic College, with the support of Principal John Bormolini, student leaders and College staff offering a warm welcome to guests from schools across the Archdiocese of Perth and the Diocese of Bunbury, including St Joseph’s schools in Northam, Pinjarra and Waroona.
