Checking in to thank you
08 April 2022
It’s been a trying term, so we’re checking in on your wellbeing and to thank you for your responses to addressing COVID-19 throughout first term.
Thank you to everyone in our wonderful CEWA system for your creativity, resilience, and compassion in adapting to the ever-changing COVID-19 challenges we were presented with in Term 1.
Amid the mask-wearing and social distancing, we’ve seen incredible agility in our schools with online assemblies, remote learning initiatives and general compassion for others in our communities.
Musical ensemble practise was taken outdoors at Prendiville Catholic College in Ocean Reef and drama students at St Norbert College in Queens Park pivoted from a theatre production to COVID-safe radio plays.
John XXIII also hosted online lessons with their music department, as well as parent-teacher interviews and their Koolyangarra virtual assembly to celebrate their House Day, through online platforms.
St Patrick’s in Katanning held undercover outdoor classes to help optimise learning and Holy Rosary conducted their Year five assembly in a breaking news remote bulletin format to engage their audience.
…we’ve seen incredible agility in our schools with online assemblies, remote learning initiatives and general compassion for others in our communities.
St Mary’s Northampton delivered Learning Packs to their remote, isolating families so that students could still access learning and to reassure families they were still connected and cared for.
At Good Shepherd Catholic Primary in Kelmscott, the school community rallied to support families hit hard during a bout of positive cases, making food deliveries, and dropping off RATs to those in isolation.
These are not isolated incidents. Every school has similar stories and these are just a sample of what we were sent to put together the CEWA “Checking In” thank you video that you can watch in the link below.
Thank you to all our CEWA schools for your time and efforts throughout the term.
