Nominations still open for Quality Catholic Education Awards

08 July 2024

There’s still time for schools to submit their nominations for the 2024 Quality Catholic Education (QCE) Awards.

The Awards celebrate the values and ethos of Catholic schools by recognising the contributions of staff and students in projects carried out throughout the year. Awards are held for primary and secondary school initiatives in four categories: Catholic Identity, Education, Community, and Stewardship.

A separate People’s Choice Award is also held across all four categories, along with an additional award for the best student-led initiative. Last year 98 nominations were made for projects ranging from language and cultural programmes to STEM challenges to Staff Leadership Initiatives.

Nominations for the QCE Awards close on Friday 16 August 2024.

Last year’s People’s Choice Award was won by Mater Dei College for their ‘SES Bears’ project.

CEWA’s Deputy Executive Director Annette Morey, who was Principal at Mater Dei College in 2023, said:

“The QCE Awards are a great opportunity for Catholic schools to celebrate the many varied and creative initiatives their students and staff undertake throughout the school year which highlight the values Catholic education is based on.

“I would encourage all our schools to consider what projects might be good ideas for QCE Awards, even if you think it isn’t a significant project it might be what the judges are looking for!”
