POD Play at Orana Catholic Primary School

03 August 2017

After identifying a need to provide a play environment that suits the needs of all students at the school, Orana Catholic Primary School established POD Play.

Emma Bell, assistant principal at Orana, said “The students were asking for something new that was simple while at the same time included a variety of play materials for them to use, explore, create with and enjoy.”

Following extensive research and discussions about play options at the school, lead by the school’s designated “POD Squad”, the idea of play PODs came to be. The school has put together an iBook about the community engagement process involved in bringing the project to life.

“We are proud of this innovation and children across all years love playing with the POD Play equipment.  Creativity, innovation, collaboration and problem solving are alive and well in this play experience” said Emma.
