La Salle College’s, Elena Preiato has been named the WA Library Technician of the Year recognising her leadership and dedication to the importance of school libraries.

The WA Library Technician of the Year award honours an exceptional school library technician whose work has a positive impact on the service provided by the school library.

As well as the WA School Library Association Award, announced on 18 June, Elena was commended for her 20 years’ service at La Salle and for making the school’s iCentre an inviting and inspiring place for students to learn.

“It’s a great honour to receive this award and La Salle is very fortunate to have a vibrant and dynamic library, however it’s the students that make it all worthwhile,” she said.

The Western Australian School Library Association awards recognise the professional leadership, vision, innovation and collaboration of members who work hard to develop libraries in WA education settings.
