VET 2023 – Chloe Martin (Holy Cross College graduate) Success Story

Chloe Martin’s Vocation Education and Training (VET) journey is a success story proving that with passion and hard work, anything is possible.

Chloe’s interest for metal work blossomed during her placement at a truck building shop in Year 10. With guidance from her school counsellor, she enrolled in a VET course Cert II in Heavy Metal Engineering and spent one day a week either attending TAFE in Clarkson or gaining work experience at the truck building workshop.

Her dedication to her craft earned her a spot at the World Skills Competition where she emerged as gold medalist. Chloe said her ‘life-changing’ experience increased her confidence and hopes this will inspire more women to take up the trade.

Chloe is currently in her first year of apprenticeship at Westrac as a boilermaker and says she loves her job and colleagues.

Wishing Chloe all the best in her endeavours!
