Prendiville College student art on track

A visual artist and Year 11 student at Prendiville Catholic College’s Endeavour Centre has won wide recognition for his paintings over the past year.

Christopher Hummel’s work featured in the opening of the Prendiville Gallery at the College last year, and in June this year he won the student award in the City of Joondalup’s Community Art Exhibition.

There was further excitement when Christopher’s artwork, entitled Graffmytrain, 2018was accepted into in the META Exhibition, and awarded the major prize. North Metropolitan TAFE’s META exhibition showcases innovative and exciting creative works by 2018 Year 11 and 12 students in Western Australia.

In his artist statement, Christopher said I paint graffiti trains from around the world. My favourite type of train is the A series. I paint trains because I love trains, and I put graffiti on it because I like it, so I combined it together.”
