CEWA leader awarded Churchill Fellowship

17 October 2018

CEWA Student Services Team Leader Jacqueline Reid has been awarded a prestigious Winston Churchill Fellowship for 2018.

One of 112 Australians awarded the fellowship, Ms Reid was chosen for her continuing investigations into integration of therapeutic intervention for mental health and wellbeing in schools.

Since 2016, Jaqueline has led the Trauma Informed Schools Project for CEWA, involving meetings and workshops across the State that discuss the effects of trauma on brain development and learning.

CEWA schools participating in the project have reported improved self-regulation, attendance, and motivation of students.

The Churchill Fellowship started in 1965 and strives to provide exceptional Australians the opportunity to travel internationally for four to eight weeks to research their desired fields.
