CEWA graduates recognised at prestigious awards

CEWA students were recognised at the School Curriculum and Standards Authority (SCSA) Exhibitions and Awards presentation ceremony recently. 

Held at Government House, 81 Year 12 students from across Western Australia were presented with awards by the Honourable Kim Beazley, AC, Governor of Western Australia and the Honourable Sue Ellery, MLC, Minister for Education and Training. 

Newman College twins Jacinta and Kascia Pavisich were awarded a Certificate of Distinction and General Exhibition respectively. Kascia also took home a Subject Exhibition for Psychology and Certificates of Excellence for English and Psychology.

Taylah Carozza and Eloise Dixon from Santa Maria College, Matthew Knight from Mazenod College and Kascia Pavisich from Newman College were presented with General Exhibition awards, which are awarded to 50 students in the State with the highest ATAR scores (with at least two ATAR courses from the humanities/social sciences list and two from the mathematics/science list to qualify). 

Sacred Heart College graduate Jacinta Devitt was presented with the General Exhibition ATSI award, presented to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander student with the highest ATAR achievement. 

Jacinta is the fourth member of her family to win the prestigious award. 

In total 959 CEWA Year 12 students from 2018 earned SCSA awards across the General Exhibition, General Exhibition ATSI, Subject Exhibition, Subject Certificate of Excellence, VET Exhibition, VET Certificate of Excellence, Certificate of Distinction and Certificate of Merit categories.
