St John’s turns 50

26 July 2019

Three days of festivities have been planned to celebrate St John’s School Rangeway’s Golden Jubilee Anniversary in October.

Past students, families and staff of the Geraldton school have been asked to keep Friday 25 to Sunday 27 October free for celebrations.

St John’s school and parish were established by the Presentation Sisters in 1969 when Mt Tarcoola consisted of little more than Sydney Street and Rangeway was just a fledgling suburb.

Under the guidance of then parish priest, Monsignor John Barden, and with foundation Principal Sr Raphael Quirke, St John’s School began with just two classrooms.

Now educating Kindergarten to Year 6, St John’s has maintained the character of a small family school and is known for its strong sense of community and tradition.

Today students come from almost every suburb of Geraldton and areas beyond the city to attend the school.

For more information about the anniversary festivities, please contact the school on (08) 99 200 123 or admin@sjr.wa.edu.au
