UFCC uniforms find new life in Mali

A change of uniform at Ursula Frayne Catholic College has resulted in a unique opportunity for College families to help meet the needs of others.
Hundreds of students in the villages of Glambere, Syama and Fourou in Mali, Africa, have received uniforms and educational supplies, thanks in part to the donation of uniforms still in good condition by College families.
The donations were provided through a partnership with WA company Resolute Mining as well as local mining authorities and schools in Mali.
The change to the new College uniform has happened gradually over the last couple of years, and uniforms with plenty of life left in them travelled more than 16,000kms with Resolute Mining volunteers over a period of 18 months to reach the students in Mali, along with other donated goods to support their schooling.
The donated uniforms have met practical needs of students in the villages, and the delivery of the goods has involved local community leaders who have encouraged them to embrace the opportunities they have through education.
